The ostrich and the ladybug – Driant Zeneli

The ostrich and the ladybug is a new production created for the exhibition Short Fairy Tales for Adults, a continuation of the research path that the artist began in 2023.

The new works are born by continuing with collaborations such as the one with Mimmo Pesare (Scientific Coordinator of the Research Center of the Department of Human and Social Sciences “Laboratorio di Studi Lacaniani”, at the University of Salento), with Roberto and Gabriele, papier-mâché artisans. With them the artist buildt the two sculptures that represent utopia and the dream and the obsession with gravity, inherent in the ostrich, an animal with wings but unable to fly.

The works are a challenge to physical and intellectual limits by staging ironic and dreamlike situations, sometimes absurd – as the artist himself states.
