What is KORA – Contemporary Arts Center today?
Kora – Centro del Contemporaneo is located in the heart of Salento, in Castrignano de Greci, in the so-called “Grecìa Salentina”, into the historic walls of the Baronial Palace De Gualtieriis. It is a place of production and research about the contemporary; about 1600 square meters intended to accommodate temporary and permanent exhibitions, educational and creative workshops and artistic residences.
There are also spaces for holding conferences, events, performances and live shows.
A multidisciplinary project to which is added a library with specific texts on topics of primary cultural and artistic interest as well as a specialized media library on the theme of “Extreme Lands”.
The bookshop completes the offer with a selection for different audiences including adults, teens and children and finally international magazines.
The spaces are enriched by a dining area – the Korabar – and the exteriors of the building, which include the welcoming and characteristic garden.
Kora is the result of the collaboration of four realities: Ramdom APS, as leader of the joint venture established, together with the creative studio PazLab, Doc-Servizi and MUTA Impresa Sociale.
