What is KORA – Contemporary Arts Center today? Kora is located in the heart of Salento, in Castrignano de Greci, in the so-called Grecia Salentina, and is housed in the historical walls of the Palazzo Baronale de Gualtieriis. It is a place for production and research on the contemporary; approximately 1600 square metres are used to host temporary and permanent exhibitions, educational and creative workshops and artistic residencies.
There are also spaces for conferences, events, performances and live shows.
A multidisciplinary project to which is added a library with specific texts on topics of primary cultural and artistic interest as well as a media library specialising in the theme of ‘Extreme Lands’.
The bookshop completes the offer with a selection of books for different audiences including adults, young people and children, as well as international magazines.
The spaces are enriched by a refreshment area – the Korabar – and the exterior of the building, which includes the cosy and characteristic garden.
Kora is the result of the collaboration of four realities: Ramdom APS, as leader of the ATI formed, together with the creative studio PazLab, Doc-Servizi and MUTA Impresa Sociale.
