Video taken from “Parata per il Paesaggio”, a collective public artwork consisting of a performance resulting from the interaction between the artist, the inhabitants of Capo di Leuca, the Ramdom association and the members of the GAP project.

Starting from the study of the territory, the artist creates a parade with eight percussionists and fourteen flag-wavers that, moving from point to point of the Gulf of Leuca, symbolically join Punta Ristola and Punta Meliso, thus reuniting the two lovers Aristula and Melisso that an ancient legend wants to divide, out of jealousy, by the siren Leucasia.

Inspired also by the work of the geographer Élisée Reclus, the work is a reflection on the “Finis Terrae” of Italy and the geological and geographical characteristics of the area. It aims to re-evaluate certain aspects linked to the boundaries of the landscape. The areas on which it focuses are those of transition between the terrestrial and marine landscape: the cliffs. The other landscape elements that are studied and made symbols in the artist’s work are the “Specchie”, the dry-stone walls and the “Pajare”, typical of the Salento area.

“Parata per il Paesaggio” also wants to be a reflection on the concept of natural limit and political boundary and, like every work of the artist, it has no univocal meaning but opens to the interpretation of the observer.
