Born in the south-west of France, Pierre Richard lives and works in Poitiers. After a period in the audiovisual industry, the artist trained at art school and now dedicates himself to sculpture and installation. Pierre Richard creates percussive, symptomatic and crippled sculptures that invent their own uses and move in an anachronistic, parasitic or fragile way. They act as witnesses of contemporary metamorphoses, drawing inspiration from both craftsmanship and art. and alchemy, but also from nature and climatic catastrophes, through wood and bronze, water and fire. This constellation of tensions seems to invite us into spontaneous encounters, whispering stories of struggle, friendship, wandering, celebration, parcels and fires.
