Applications are now open for the fifth edition of Nouveau Grand Tour 2026, the artistic residency program promoted by Institut français Italia / Embassy of France in Italy. An international initiative dedicated to emerging young artists, created to reinterpret the tradition of the Grand Tour through a contemporary lens and to foster cultural dialogue between France and Italy.
The program offers 25 artists and creatives under the age of 35 the opportunity to take part in a one-month residency hosted by a network of partner institutions across Italy, between September and December 2026. An immersive experience focused on research, experimentation, and artistic production, open to all contemporary disciplines.
Developed within the framework of the Quirinal Treaty, Nouveau Grand Tour encourages international mobility, the exchange of practices, and the creation of new European artistic connections. Since 2022, the project has supported a new generation of talents through residency paths that bring together heritage, territories, and contemporary creation.
Applications for the 2026 edition are open until May 6, 2026. Full information about the open call, selection criteria, and partner institutions is available on the official Institut français Italia website.
