Ex Situ, Lugi Coppola at Cosmological Garde

Second public program event of Luigi Coppola‘s project, Ex Situ the winning project of Italian Council (10th edition, 2021) produced by Ramdom, curated by Ramdom and Lucrezia Cippitelli ( Artistic Director of Ateliers Picha and curator of 7a Biennale of Lubumbashi), for the participation at the 7th Lubumbashi Biennale entitled Toxicity, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The event took place on 29 June for Cosmological Garden, Encuentro IV: Cultivating Caring Cultures, at Villa Pianciani in Spoleto.

Cosmological Gardens is an ongoing research project engaging an intensive consideration of the planetary geographies of caring cultures and their implications for anti-extractivist and decolonial
action. Cosmological Gardens, Encuentro IV is facilitated by CAD +SR Senior Research Fellows Pelin Tan (Turkey), curator, artist, architecture theorist, and Luigi Coppola (Italy), artist and coactivator of Casa delle Agriculture, Evolutionary Gardens. They will be joined by Faculty Fellows Rirkrit Tiravanija, artist, (New
York/Thailand), Elizabeth Hoover, Professor of Environmental Science, UC-Berkeley, (US), Gediminas and Nomeda Urbonas, artists, educators, and founders of Urbonas Studio (Lithuania), and John Mpaliza, activist, (Congo/Italy)

 

The project is supported by the Italian Council (10th Edition, 2021), program to promote Italian contemporary art in the world by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture.
