Ellen Harlizius-Klück (Munich, Germany) is an artist and researcher interested in the algorithms, the logic and mathematics of textile production. Currently she is Principal Investigator of the ERC project PENELOPE: A Study of Weaving as Technical Mode of Existence (ERC-2015-CoG; No. 682711), situated at the Research Institute for the History of Technology and Science, Deutsches Museum, one of the world’s largest museums for technology. From 2014 to 2016 she was international Co-Investigator in the project Weaving Codes – Coding Weaves, funded by a Digital Transformations Amplification Award 2014 of the Arts & Humanities Research Council (UK). Before, she investigated textile technology as a Marie-Curie Senior Research Fellow of the Gerda Henkel Foundation (COFUND) at the Centre for Textile Research, University of Copenhagen in the project The Tacit Knowledge of Ancient Weaving.
