Centenario Docks Dora is opening on Friday 4th May, first appointment created by SAL – SpazioAdLibitum at the occasion of the celebrations for the 100 years of Docks Dora in Torino, proposed by Neks Association with the project Docks912 curated by Francesco Poli and Michele Bramante. Thanks to many guest’s participation coming from the world of contemporary arts (artists, musicians, critics and art historians) the Centenario will be an open platform of confrontation, exchange and reflection for insiders and followers of art and culture. The Centenario consists in three days of meetings – Friday 4th, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of May – taking place during the whole day, with a video-art show, debates on the themes of contemporary art such as womanly art and new technologies, a collective exhibition and one night of experimental electronic music. The aim is to celebrate an important anniversary for a place of creative and lively exchange that was able to re-invent itself in time, and to make this experience the first step of the future projects by SpazioAdLibitum.

The project opens on Friday 4th May at 6.30pm with the opening of three exhibitions: an installation by Assila Cherfi curated by SAL, a collective exhibition curated by Spazio Ferramenta in the exhibition space of the SAL with artworks by Trung Anh Vu, Edoardo Piva and Alfredo Vinti, Gianluca Lombardo’s personal exhibition curated by the BOCS of Catania. At 9pm the first appointment of the video show curated by Filippo Maria Selvaggio opens with a documentary by Marco Scotuzzi about Sebastiao Januario presented by Francesca Monti, and another one by Paolo Campana with a reflection on Luisa Rabbia’s work, presented by Alejandro De La Fuente of Atacama Film.

On Saturday 5th May the appointment is at 3pm with the opening of the exhibition spaces and at 6pm with the first debate about the “New opportunities of creation in the digital era”, curated by Marco Mastino and Carolina Dei Pieri with the participation of Alessandro Amaducci videomaker and professor at DAMS Torino, Inlandempire project, Sandro Carnino director, Francesca Cirilli photographer, Martina Coletti curator, Irene Dionisio philosopher and video-artist, Simona Lodi art critic and curator. After an aperitif offered by SAL, at 9pm the second appointment with the video show, proposing the artworks by Annamaria Craparotta, Alessandro Lo Cascio, Mapi Rizzo presented by Giuseppe Maiorana director of Belice Epicenter of Living Memory, and Maria Rebecca Ballestra presented by Paolo Mele (RAMDOM). At night Sound Set by Flavio Scutti and Inlandempire project to follow.

On Sunday 6th May the exhibition spaces will be open from 3pm to host at 5pm the talk on the theme “Womanly and personal. Creative urgency and daily life” curated by Fiammetta Strigoli, with the participation of the artists Giulia Caira, Chicco Margaroli, Elena Pignata, Yael Plat and Agnese Purgatorio. After the aperitif at 8pm, closing the whole event, the third and last projection of the video show with the works by Ilaria Pezone and Irene Dionisio.
