Giorgio Garippa & Oliver Palmer

Live and Work between Oxford and London (UK)

Giorgio Garippa (Italy) and Oliver Palmer (UK) are a collaborative duo based across Oxford and London, UK. They graduated from Masters in Fine Art in 2013 at Wimbledon and Goldsmiths. Their creative partnership began whilst studying as undergraduates at Oxford Brookes University.
Their combined practice has resulted in projects and research which have interrogated themes around memories of traumatic events and their transmission to subsequent generations and the potential of fiction as an addition to and correlate of historical narrative.
During the course of their research-led projects they have developed installations, sculpture and video. They are interested in how the combination of video with sculpture can ‘unlock’ the memories and associations embedded within sculptural objects and, simultaneously, of how sculptures and objects can make tangible the themes and forms presented in video, grounding it in the experience of a particular time and place.
