The project’s fourth stage – after Ghana, Switzerland and Madagascar – will take place in Dubai from 10th to 17th June, and will be curated by Mamia Bretsche.  For this event Rebecca will create a photographic work on the modern Arab city of Masdar City: one of the most sustainable cities in the world, planned so as to offer a high quality of life and working conditions, with the lowest possible ecological footprint. Masdar City is a place where the the most innovative cleantech research is in progress, and where innovation and technological experimentation have brought about some of the most interesting and sustainable pilot projects on the planet. Masdar City is an open technological platform that provides its partner companies with the unprecedented opportunity to develop, test and validate their technology on a large scale and in a real environment. (www.masdarcity.ae).
To finance the project, Journey into Fragility has chosen to use  Crowd funding an independent and free internet portal. The platform’s aim is to offer a space for everyone who wants to propose/finance a project through the system of crowd funding – a way of gathering funds and financing by popular subscription in order to realise a project. In this way, whoever proposes a project can form an idea of the potential interest that the project could attract and can cover the project’s production costs.
