MATTEO PIZZOLANTE

MATTEO PIZZOLANTE was born in Tricase, near Lecce, in 1989.
He graduated in Building Engineering in 2012, and subsequently enrolled in the two-year Sculpture course at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of Vittorio Corsini. He completed his studies in Germany at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Dresden with Wilhelm Mundt and Carsten Nicolai.
He participated at several exhibitions in Italy and is the winner of the Jaguart project promoted by Artissima and Jaguar.
During the dissemination of COVID-19 Pizzolante was involved in several digital projects, including 30 Artists X 30 Days called by Fondazione Pini and Pensiero Vuoto realised by Galleria Renata Fabbri, Milan. Recent projects and participations include: GAM, Turin; Vistamarestudio, Milan; Jaguart Artissima, Milan; Brindisi Centrale solo exhibition at Le Case d’Arte, curated by Pasquale Leccese; Artissima Experimental Academy VOL. III led by the Iranian artist Setareh Shahbazi, Artissima, Turin; BienNolo, Milan; BOCs Art, Cosenza; Passion for the path of art, Galleria Cardi, Milan; E’ il corpo che decide, a project by Marcello Maloberti promoted by Museo del Novecento, Milan and Fondazione Furla; Pizzolante is also the winner of the Vanni Autofocus10 International Prize and participates in the Q-Rated project, Ricerche sensibili, promoted by La Quadriennale, Rome.

He is one of the four artists invited for A Sud di Marte, an artistic residency plan realised in collaboration with Fondazione Elpis, taking place at KORA – Centro del Contemporaneo from April 2022 to February 2023.
