Valentina Bonifacio is a Marie-Curie Research Scholar at the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice, and Parsons School of Design of New York. She is a trained visual anthropologist from the University of Manchester (UK) and wrote different articles on the relationship between Maskoy people and non-indigenous society in Paraguay, beside shooting a documentary [Casado’s Legacy] hat toured in the most important ethnographic film festivals. Since a few years she is collaborating with both urban designers and artists with whom she carried on a variety of projects. Her latest one has been an exhibition on the history of Puerto Casado, a Paraguayan town, that she curated together with a Paraguayan writer and curator, and that was set up in Asuncion, New York and Venice. With Lucia Veronesi she has realized a video-art documentary on the experience of two female Paraguayan inmates in Milan prisons.
