She is a visual artist and filmmaker based in the North East of England. Her work responds to stimulus drawn from shifting, transitional moments in the built landscape, with a focus on the social and political memory inherent within these spaces. She works predominantly across video and photography, often weaving a documentary approach with live elements and immersive installation to map landscapes and explore the interplay between people and architecture. As well as exhibiting in traditional gallery spaces Taryn presents work within the public domain and via site-specific events. Collaboration and the exchange of ideas, knowledge and dialogue is an integral part of her practice and she often develops relationships with other artists and non-artist groups to facilitate research as well as the co-production of final works.
