Roberto Memoli (1989) Visual and Sound artist. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino – Nuove Tecnologie dell’Arte and Visual & Motion Design. In those same years he attended courses and seminars at the ISIA in Urbino and at the LEMS electronic music laboratory at the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro.
From 2011 to 2013 he was a member and coordinator of the project “Ur.L.O. – Urbino Laptop Orchestra”, a work based on improvisation and conducting of an electronic orchestra.
In 2013 he founded with VJ Luca Moroni the project Audio/Visual “K-Sine” hosted, from 2013 to 2016, in several festivals including: Robot Festival of Bologna (IT), Transient Festival of Paris (FR). At the same time he carried out several projects under the pseudonym of “nero.txt”.
Since 2017 he has been working on a new solo production that tries to combine contemporary art and electronic music. The field of research has noise/ lo-fi influences, trying to explore the noise component and thinking about the concept of limit, system economics and attention to detail.
He carries out projects that have an attitude towards visual arts, graphics and contemporary languages. All projects follow a directive that can be simplified into a sort of motto: the process is the result. None of the arts can be excluded because we ourselves are not one. Practice is the only way to investigate a border.
One of his most recent works is this:
Some events and phenomena – series of works for the residency project Vis à Vis Fuoriluogo 21 in Mafalda for the association Limiti Inchiusi arte contemporanea.
Verderame – sound installation in a public space and video installation. The work is the result of a six-month residence “Sino alla fine del mare” at the Ramdom association in Gagliano del Capo (LE).
Immersiva – Quadriphonic live performance presented in 2017 in different places including the Luigi Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art in Prato.
Memoli has been one of the artists in residence selected for the project “Until the end of the sea”, produced thanks to the support of “Sillumina – Copia privata per i giovani, per la cultura”, Ministero dei beni e delle attività culturali e del turismo e SIAE.
