Guo Xinglang

He works with sensations of his body, using his body as an instrument and medium of his artwork. His exploration is based on pushing the limits of his body and emotions. His practice is to seek for non-verbal ways of communication between himself and the public. He’s interested in people’s behaviour in public due to various established social conventions and structures. He also works with outdoor/indoor installations, sound installation, performative interventions and artistic videos, etc. Commemoration, temporary intervention and site-specific work in public spaces are his interest fields of work. His goal is to communicate with audience and provide them a moment of rethinking their ordinary life. By ways of questioning the surroundings and himself, he’s searching for ways of understanding and being understood by others.
