Simona Di Meo was born in 1986 in Rome, where she gratuated in Visual Arts. Currently, she lives and works in Milan. Her research is based on specific site surveys which combine archives study, documents collection and re-work, and direct interviews. These activities allow her to establish an empathic relation with the people involved. Open to play with different media and channels, Simona makes art works and actions that explore multidisciplinary paths including art, landscape, society and terrirory. Her work activates processes with the aim of stimulating the historical and emotional memory of one place, involving a varied audience in a dialog at multiple levels.
Di Meo is one of the artists in residence selected for the project “Until the end of the sea”, produced thanks to the support of “Sillumina – Copia privata per i giovani, per la cultura”, Ministero dei beni e delle attività culturali e del turismo e SIAE .
